ELST sent six volunteers to teach in Ladakh, Zanskar and Spiti in the summer of 2009. These high-altitude buddhist kingdoms are at the far north of the Indian Union. Snowlocked throughout the winter months, the region stands out because of its remoteness and ancient Tibetan culture.
